The state of California does not require a license for duct cleaning. The County of Orange does not require a license for duct cleaning. The city in which you live in does require a business license, but there is no requirement for that other than writing a check as cities are happy to take money without actually performing any services. It is pretty clear that in order to clean the ducting properly you must be a state licensed contractor.

The couple were newlyweds and the home was gift from their parents (oh, to be so lucky). Off white Berber carpet, black lacquer furniture, black granite counter tops. The home was beautiful, not my style, but very nice, and everything was new and the home had just been completed. They had moved in the week before, coming back from their honeymoon.

New furnaces move more air than the older furnaces and therefore the buildup of dirt in the ducting is promptly removed by the increase in airflow and spread throughout the home when the furnace is first turned on.
